Special offer for residents of Whatcom's small cities

If you live in one of the small cities of Whatcom County, the Community Energy Challenge has a special offer available to help make energy efficiency even more easy and affordable.

For residents of Whatcom's small cities*, for a limited time the entire cost ($195) of a CEC home energy assessment will be refunded when you complete any recommended home energy improvements through the CEC.  

  • On average, the CEC is helping homeowners realize potential annual savings of $200-$400, or 20-30 percent of yearly energy costs.
  • The CEC provides an average of $1,800 in cash incentives for each participating household. 
  • Common improvements include insulating and air sealing the home, repairing or replacing furnaces and other major appliances, sealing ducts, and insulating pipes.

*Funding for this limited time offer is available for residents of Ferndale, Lynden, Blaine, Everson, Sumas, Nooksack and Unincorporated Whatcom County.  

If you live within Bellingham city limits you can still receive a home energy assessment.
